Individual coaching helps people create their specific position in the company (their added value), to develop their talent, and to discover what they contribute and why they do it.

Coaching is an accelerator.

Individual coaching is aimed at any individual who, aware of his or her responsibilitý in front of his or her own evolution, wishes to give himself or herself the means to better express his or her full potential, in accordance with his or her own values and motivations, in the context of his or her professional life.

Individual coaching is adapted́ to professional development objectives along with its needs, issues and challenges. It is an accelerator, allowing the growth of the individual, providing keys and awareness to better manage professional and personal issues that affect professional performance.
It takes the form of a series of individual meetings between the coachee and the coaching professional, who will set up a process that will enable the person find his/her own most relevant solutions in a specific context. Individual coaching allows the person to question himself or herself, to develop his or her adaptability and flexibilitý.
The coaching approach is a process based on listening, questioning (Socrates’ concept of maieutics), silences, rephrasing, formulating hypotheses and proposing interpretations at the right moment to trigger awareness.

In concrete terms, the proposed process is as follows:

  • • An initial contact meeting: this enables the context to be described, the request and objectives to be formulated, the desire to work together to be validated, the framework and conditions of the support to be set, and a coaching contract which is shared by all parties to be concluded. This can be done on a bipartite or tripartite basis (with the manager or an HR representative)
  • • Regular sessions: this coaching comprises generally 7 to 12 sessions of 1.5 to 2 hours, at a rate of about once every two weeks at the beginning, then every month thereafter.
  • • The final meeting is a final feedback meeting, an assessment in relation to the objectives set at the beginning.

Some themes often dealt with in individual coaching:

  • • Improving relationships with others, managing emotions
  • • Awareness of one’s own uniqueness and added value to the company
  • • Development of self-confidence and self-esteem
  • • Time management, stress management
  • • Self-assertion, better communication and defense of one’s ideas in public
  • • Development of listening skills for better cooperation
  • • Development of managerial potential.
  • • Support in the context of temporary difficulties in a troubled professional context where the stakes are high.
  • • Taking on a new function within the company
  • • Prevention of loss of motivation and burnout
  • • Regeneration of life energy that is too often blocked and forgotten

Even if it is initially proposed or organised by the company, coaching will be effective if it is based on a real willingness on the part of the person being coached, and if the latter can choose his or her coach.

Coaches rely on a strict code of ethics which guarantees, in particular, the confidentialitý of their approach, respect for the person and his or her total individual freedoḿ.
